The Maidenhead Lodge

It was January of 1945 when The Maidenhead Lodge was founded.

The Allied Forces had landed on the beaches of Normandy some 6 months earlier and positive progress was being made across Europe.

Whilst the War had taken a terrible toll in terms of lives and resources, the mood across Great Britain was one of hope and optimism.

It was believed that victory would come soon. Over the previous 6 years, the nation had bonded together, in the face of extreme adversity, to stand together as one.

Public opinion hoped and prayed that sometime very soon there would be peace again and once more our nation could begin to re-build and prosper.

Thus The Maidenhead Lodge came to not only reflect that sense of hope and optimism but also to epitomise the camaraderie and bonds of friendship that had been forged in such hard times.
Over the following decades, that spirit of trust, respect and friendship has become an intrinsic part of The Maidenhead Lodge.

It’s members come from a range of backgrounds both professional and business, some retired and others still involved in the daily challenges of working life.

For all however, there is the common bond of respect and friendship within their Lodge and the gratifying knowledge of spending time with like-minded individuals.
